The fourth “be strong and of good courage” comes from the leaders of three of the tribes. Simple right? Be Strong and of Good Courage He was to divide the land, drive out the inhabitants and lead each tribe to possess their inheritance. What’s going on here? The context is, Moses has just died and God was calling a successor, a faithful man and the next leader to take the children of Israel into their Promised Land. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage do not be afraid, nor be dismayed for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)įOUR times in one chapter, Joshua is told to “be strong and of good courage.” In 18 verses, we as well as Joshua are reminded to be strong and courageous.
